How long do the actual space flights last?

Depending on windspeed, air pressure, payload and a few other factors, flights can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. About half of that time is spent ascending to maximum altitude, before a parachute is deployed and your stuff makes its way gently down to earth.

How long will I have to wait for my launch day?

We usually launch 2-3 flights per week so depending on scheduling, demand, and your own deadlines, we’re usually able to launch your stuff in 2-3 weeks from placing a booking. Sometimes we’re able to launch to quicker turnarounds, so let us know if you have a tight deadline and we’ll see what we can do.

How sustainable is it to send my stuff to space?

At Filmed In Space, we are committed to conducting all our product launches in a 100% sustainable manner, with a 99% craft recovery rate. We prioritise compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations to minimise any negative impact on the environment. Please consult our Sustainability Policy for more information.

What cameras do you use to film the stuff with?

We use ‘top of the range’, ‘space-grade cameras’ which have been modified to work at high altitude. The cameras are attached to special rigs which ensure a constant flow of power, double saved memory cards and a custom-built casing to ensure no damage is done during the landing process.

How much does it cost to send my stuff to space?

Each load of stuff we send to space for our clients has a unique cost based on the item’s weight, size and required delivery. For that reason, we ask that you use the form below to request a quote accurate to your needs.

At Filmed In Space, we are committed to conducting all our product launches in a 100% sustainable manner, with a 99% craft recovery rate. We do not use rockets or rocket fuel and we prioritise compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations to minimise any negative impact on the environment. To achieve this goal, we have adopted the following sustainable practices for every near space balloon launch. Find Out More Here

Should I send valuable possessions to space?

We certainly don’t recommend sending anything to space that you absolutely need back in your hands. Your stuff will travel 120,000 feet up (four times the altitude of commercial airliners) so things can occasionally go wrong. Whilst we have a 99% retrieval rate, please don’t send us valuable or cherished items.

Will my stuff come down from space?

We have a 99% retrieval rate when it comes to locating our clients’ stuff. The very nature of space travel is risky, so we can never guarantee to be able to return items. However, we have a pretty good record of being able to do so.
